Group Purchasing Manager

The Role
My client is a market leading player within it's field, with a national reputation for quality and excellence. They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join as Group Purchasing Manager.
Responsibilities will include managing aproximately £100 million worth of external spend in a variety of categories, whilst agreeing savings targets and budgets for each category. You will be required to develop robust and innovative procurement strategies for procurement categories you are responsible for, and carry out negotiations, manage suppliers and deliver continuous improvement.
I am looking for someone who can deliver benefits in both strategy and implementation to this position, someone with a strong track record of success in procurement. You will preferably have broad category experience, both indirect and direct, and be comfortable in an environment which is extremely down to earth.
