Demand Planner

Our Client is a major blue-chip company, operating globally in FMCG. Employing over 5000 people world-wide, operating in 200 countries, the UK turnover alone is in excess of £1 billion. Although our Client is such a large player in its market, their work ethic is far from beaurocratic with them encouraging autonomy and the freedom to develop in an exciting environment.
The Role
You will work directly with your commercial teams and external customers (both their Supply Chain and Commercial contacts) to create and maintain the best possible service level in a collaborative manner, using the appropriate tools.
As the Commercial / Supply interface, you will provide the Supply Chain teams with timely analysis, guidance, information, and decision-making to ensure that the Supply Chain is in the best position to execute the demand plan that you generate from your forecast in collaboration with our clients commercial teams and customers.
You will be the supply chain face to your customers and own their service level.
You will demonstrate high integrity to develop / manage the relationship with your customers so that supply is never on your commercial teams’ or their buyers’ agendas.
Where there is the appropriate relationship, in liaison with our Client's Supply Chain Optimisation Team you will contribute to the evolution of supply chain strategies with these customers to our mutual benefit.
In addition to your account-specific work, you will own other projects, including certain Sales Events and New Product Development launches, on behalf of the whole Supply Chain team to ensure joined-up thinking and action across the team on these crucial initiatives
The Person
Experience in a customer-facing role and/or supply chain planning, from which you can demonstrate where your integrity has inspired trust with your contacts, and which has subsequently driven successful action.
Degree educated or equivalent.
Successful achievement of results in a fast-moving, pressurised blue-chip environment where you can demonstrate a strong self-starting / directing ability.
Experience of working cross-functionally at an operational level, with demonstrable evidence of significant influencing of peer group and above, and strong examples of relationship building and creation of collaborative, customer-focussed plans.
Good understanding of IT systems; operational database experience is particularly relevant.
