The successful candidate will be responsible for buying a wide range of commodities in this engineering environment, including dampers, fasteners, springs, bearings and castings. Cost is the critical purchasing aspect, in addition to ensuring items are delivered on time and meet exactiing quality requirements. Supplier interaction is required to ensure that they are performing to expectations, so experience of developing and managing a supply base is desireable. The role also involves an amount of project work and contact with parties in several countries.

Ideally the candidate will have the following to offer:

• 2 years proven buying experience, within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• HNC/HND standard qualification in a Business or Engineering discipline
• MCIPS qualification is highly advantageous, though you may be studying towards this
• Cost saving evidence
• Experience of managing supply base and successful negotiations
