Logistics Manager

A major player in its market our Client is now seeking a Logistics Manager, responsible for providing an end-to-end logistics service managing inbound material supply, master production scheduling and production planning through to technical logistics, customer services, warehousing and distribution transport systems. You will manage, develop and work to continually improve all logistical infrastructure resources, for provision of products and services to customers.
Key Elements:-
- To structure, develop and manage the Logistics team to deliver and support an ‘end-to-end’ Logistics system
- To be responsible for all Operational Logistics, Technical Logistics and Customer Services teams
- Work with the Procurement and Logistics supervisors and Supply Chain Management to ensure a collaborative approach to business issues as and when they arise
- Being able to provide support to the customer service, operational procurement processes, as well as goods inwards, warehousing, despatch and the indirect expenditure allocated to the Logistics cost centre.
- Work with the UK Supply Chain Manager to continually improve the business performance of the organisation.
- Support the UK Supply Chain Manager in executing the course of Business Excellence, quality and process improvements with the Logistics area and enable the company to define best class standards for optimal excellence.
- To ensure the successful deployment of Logistical measures to monitor and ensure 'Just In Time' material provision, effective production planning and On Time Product availability to enable provision of products and services to the customer.
- To be responsible for the day to day ‘Back Office’ Management of Logistics, Procurement and Customer Service.
Educated to HND or Degree level, you will ideally have a minimum of 10 years experience within a Logistics Management role, with previous experience of working within a high volume, manufacturing environment. Mechanical and/or electronic engineering knowledge and experience will be an advantage.
